Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assist Profession: CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assist) Specialty: OR Certified First Assistants Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F, 12 hours x 2 and 8 hours x 2 Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS Certification Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA Verification Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA Verification Must-Have: Experience and proficiency in assisting in orthopedics Description: The position requires an individual to assist in surgical procedures within the operating room environment. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile field and performing tasks under the supervision of the surgical team. The average number of surgical cases per day is approximately 28, with additional add-on cases. The candidate should possess experience working in an operating room with specific emphasis on orthopedic procedures. Proficiency in operating room protocols and the ability to handle various surgical instruments is essential. Weekend and weeknight on-call responsibilities are required, with a response time of 20 minutes. The work environment will involve collaborating with surgical nurses and technicians during procedures. This role is critical in ensuring efficiency and safety within the surgical team. The candidate may also be involved in scrubbing for various types of cases aside from orthopedics. Flexibility in scheduling and availability for call shifts is necessary.
