Job Title: Sterile Processing Technologist Profession: Nursing Specialty: Sterile Processing Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10am-8:30pm Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Not specified Certifications: CRCST or CER Must-Have: Bilingual in Spanish preferred Description: The Sterile Processing Department Technician cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care. The technician performs all daily biological and sterile supply testing and maintains logs for each. They function throughout the facility to organize and direct instrument needs to units. The technician assists with clinical operations as needed with endoscopy procedures. They stock and order supplies for the unit as directed. The technician is responsible for understanding and being fully involved in completion of competencies based on policies and standards used as guidelines for Sterile Processing Department practices. They will be an active member of the entire department, capable of assisting in roles outside of surgically specific duties if needed. The technician collaborates with others within the department to ensure an efficient, professional, and respectful environment. They work with other departments regarding patient safety and communication. The technician must be healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment. The Sterile Processing Department is not accepting any requests for time off. Housing is the responsibility of the travelers. Travelers are advised to consider housing options in surrounding towns.
