Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 01:30) Experience: Minimum of 5 years sterile processing experience required License: Certification required at hire and maintained Certifications: CRCST or CSPDT required Must-Have: Must be certified (IASCHM, CBSPD, HSPA) Must have a rating of 3 or above in Robotics Must have experience working in a Level II Trauma or similar facility Description: This position involves working the night shift with weekend rotations. The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, prepares, sterilizes, and stores instruments. The technician prepares case carts for the operating room. The position primarily involves working in decontamination and rarely assembling trays. The sterile processing unit serves multiple surgical operating rooms and various clinics. The technician works with multiple vendors for tray instruments. Experience in a Level II trauma center is preferred. It is essential to have experience with various specialties, including robotics. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Candidates must have strong skills in aseptic technique and cleaning equipment. Proper knowledge of sterilization wrapping procedures and labeling is required. The position requires experience with high-level disinfection and scope/probe reprocessing. Applicants should have knowledge of chemical agents for decontamination.
