Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Sterile Processing Technician Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent, full-time experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a high-volume hospital setting. License: Current CRCST certification (or equivalent) required. Certifications: CRCST certification Must-Have: Extensive hands-on knowledge of AAMI standards, OSHA regulations, and Joint Commission guidelines for sterile processing, including immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) protocols. Description: Inspects, assembles, and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality. Determines the need for repair or replacement and validates the completeness of sets. Facilitates effective sterilization processes. Operates sterilization equipment, and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning. Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols. Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets. Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts. Handles complex instrument trays for specialties such as orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiology. Identifies and resolves issues autonomously in fast-paced environments. Candidates with demonstrated proficiency in all phases of sterilization will be prioritized. No entry-level or partially trained technicians will be accepted. References from previous assignments must confirm independent operation in decontamination areas without supervision.
