Surgical Services Sterile Processing Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 07:00 - 17:00 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in sterile processing required License: Certification in sterile processing is required Certifications: BLS, CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA Must-Have: Endoscope reprocessing, general decontamination, sterile processing Description: 1ST TIMERS OK - SPT - Req 10227. The position will not require floating between units. On-call is not required for this position. Weekends are not required. Block schedules are not part of this role. Endoscope reprocessing experience is essential. General decontamination and sterile processing skills are required. Applicants must be certified in sterile processing. Responsibilities include cleaning and sterilizing campus-wide instrumentation including clinics and endoscope processing. Candidates should possess knowledge of automated endoscope reprocessors, biological indicators, and chemical agents for decontamination. Skills in Aseptic Technique and steam sterilization testing/monitoring are necessary. Experience with cleaning equipment and organizing trays is desired. Proper selection of wrapping materials and labeling procedures is also essential. The role may require knowledge of various scopes including bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, and urology equipment. Candidates are expected to adhere to high-level disinfection standards. Commitment to working three of the five holidays is required. A vehicle is necessary for this assignment.
