Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute hospital OR setting required. License: Active compact license honored. Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM required. Must-Have: - Experience in the use of biological indicators and chemical indicators. - Proficient in cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps. - Skilled in documenting equipment usage and high-level disinfection (HLD). - Familiarity with immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS). - Knowledgeable in neuro and orthopedic procedures. - Proficient in the proper selection of wrapping materials and assembly of sets/trays. - Experience in steam sterilization testing and monitoring. - Familiar with sterilization wrapping procedures and use of washers/sterilizers. Description: The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, assembled, and sterilized according to established protocols. Ideal candidates should have experience in an acute hospital OR setting. The technician will work with biological and chemical indicators to ensure sterilization processes are effective. Attention to detail is crucial when cleaning and documenting the use of surgical equipment. The role requires proficiency in high-level disinfection and immediate-use steam sterilization procedures.
