Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 3 years at a level I or II hospital License: Compact or state license required Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCST, CSPDT Must-Have: Knowledge of sterilization processes, experience in an acute hospital setting, and proficiency with special equipment such as sterilizers and ultrasonic machines. Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" where you will be expected to stay until the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract, you will accept this responsibility and report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency occurs. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with these conditions. No first-time travelers. A trackable work history is required. Cancellations in work history will not be accepted. Additional requirements include familiarity with sterilization monitoring parameters, knowledge of the three-sink method in decontamination, and understanding the loaner/vendor process. You should have current work experience in relevant procedures and be able to demonstrate instrument functionality checks. References from previous managers or supervisors may be required to obtain clearance. Candidates who have worked as permanent staff or in-house contractors must be separated for a specified period before returning as travelers.
