Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Compact or state license in hand upon submission Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA, CRCST, CSPDT Must-Have: - Must have experience with CensiTrac system - Minimum 3 years experience at Level I or II hospital - Certification required Description: Please ensure traveler is aware of the following responsibilities and expectations. Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an emergency team. Expectations will include staying at the facility until after the event passes or being part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event as impacts may vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept this requirement. You should report as assigned by your immediate unit manager in the event of an emergency. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with these conditions. Additional checklist is required. Requiring a minimum of 3 years work experience in the specialty. Candidates must be certified for 2-3 years minimum. Understanding and proficiency in the 3-sink method in decontamination is critical. Experience with the loaner/vendor process is essential. Knowledge of key parameters monitored on sterilization printouts to determine instrument sterility is required. Understanding of teamwork and instrument functionality checks is necessary. Familiarity with robotic instruments and cleaning procedures is a plus. The facility does not accept local travelers and you must be over 65 miles from the site. All candidates booked with pending licenses must apply for licensure within 72 hours of signing. References will not be required for submission; however, two manager/supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract. This role requires a strong background in sterile processing and related competencies. Skills should include understanding various sterilization techniques and equipment, along with instrument tracking systems.
