Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years minimum experience required License: IAHCSMM/HSPA required Certifications: CPI Certificate, BLS/ACLS/PALS - AHA ONLY Must-Have: - 2 years of experience required - First-time travelers will be considered with strong skills and experience Description: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the proper cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. Multispecialty surgeries are performed in the operating room setting. The technician will assist in maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Every other weekend on-call may be required for this role. Candidates should have experience with various sterilization equipment, including Sterrad and Steris autoclave washers. The technician will be required to float within the specialty and department as needed. Weekend and holiday work may be required as scheduled. This position is essential for supporting a range of surgical procedures. Proper labeling and organization of sterile trays are key responsibilities. Candidates must be proficient in aseptic techniques and high-level disinfection processes. Overall, this role is critical to ensure the safety and efficiency of surgical services.
