Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Experience License: Pending State License Accepted Certifications: One of the following: CBSPD or CRST (Through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) Must-Have: BLS Required: No Description: This position operates in a central services environment. The shift is on weekends, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Daily responsibilities include preparing equipment and supplies for medical use. The technician must clean and sterilize equipment and reusable supplies. Assembling case carts and trays is required. Direct patient care may be performed as needed. The facility supports a high volume of surgical services including various specialties. Experience with complex tray configurations is preferred. Familiarity with sterilization equipment is required. This role functions as a key member of a team supporting multiple operating rooms. Individuals will work with varying case types including trauma, general surgery, and robotics. Attendance and punctuality are crucial; excessive absences or tardiness will be addressed. No use of earbuds or cellphones is allowed during shifts. Team membership and collaboration with medical and nursing staff are essential.
