Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit position requiring an active MI license and prior stepdown telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in a 22-bed Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930
• Required to work every other weekend
• Every other holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
• Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and MS/Tele patient populations
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury

Additional Information

• Provide intermediate/stepdown level care to a medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days, with no early July time off approved
• If RTO falls during a holiday period, travelers must be willing to work at least one of the three designated holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Travelers are expected to complete up to 8 hours of orientation modules within one week of signing, to be finished prior to start date
