Job Summary:
Step Down Unit RN in West Virginia. This acute care position involves providing specialized care for patients with respiratory issues, weakness, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injury, and chest pain. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting, with the ability to manage titratable drips and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to submit, certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Patient Population & Clinical Responsibilities: Respiratory issues, weakness, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injury, chest pain, with a focus on titrating drips such as Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amidarone
  • Certifications & Skills: BLS, ACLS are required
  • Staffing & Unit Information: Nurse aides available on the unit, with ratios of 1:3 in Step Down and 1:5-6 on other floors; House Supervisor duties assigned to RN role; RT equipment including Cpap, BiPap, high flow; monitor techs available with occasional strip reading at the designated monitoring station
  • Additional Details: All submissions must include a copy of the candidates unexpired drivers license and disclose licensing hits at the time of submission. The unit has a 50-mile radius submission rule. Unit-specific orientation will be provided. No floating requirements. Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift if less than 13 weeks.
