Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown (HVTI) position at a major academic medical center in Cleveland, OH, requiring at least 18 months of Stepdown experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Position is in a Stepdown (HVTI) unit within a large academic hospital setting
- Potential to float to other units (J1-2, J33) and the ED to care for the same patient population
- Day/Night rotating shifts available: Days 7:00am–7:30pm and Nights 7:00pm–7:30am (3x12-hour shifts)
- Shifts may be variable based on operational needs of the hospital
- PCU/Progressive Care experience is preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending licenses accepted
- Current, active certifications required: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 18 months of combined permanent experience in Stepdown or a related specialty
- Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required; travel experience will be accepted
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months — co-worker references will not be accepted
- Valid government-issued Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
- No open background check cases will be accepted; no license hits accepted
Additional Information
- ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments are completed during orientation; a passing score on both is required, with a maximum of 2 attempts allowed
- Must work at least every other holiday
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Permanent and per diem employees of the Cleveland Clinic health system must wait 1 year from their previous end date before being eligible
- Candidates may only be considered for one Cleveland Clinic Health System position at a time
- Nurses are exempt from the facility's Nicotine-Free requirements (exemption is temporary and honored until further notice)
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing a contract
- Travelers may remain on assignment for a maximum of 18 consecutive months; a 6-month break is required before returning to any Cleveland Clinic location
- All requested time off must be disclosed prior to or at the time of interview
