Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer medically based speech and language therapy services for inpatient and outpatient populations ranging from birth through geriatric age groups
  • Assess and interpret evaluations and test results to determine individualized treatment plans in consultation with physicians, setting realistic goals based on patient needs and diagnosis
  • Provide specialty services including swallowing evaluations, Videofluoroscopy (VFSS), Modified Barium Swallowing (MBS), Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), cognitive treatment, voice treatment, and pediatric speech, language, and feeding therapy
  • Document patient assessments, treatment progress, follow-up, and termination of services accurately in the electronic health record
  • Instruct patients, families, and staff in appropriate speech-language procedures and home programs to support carryover of therapeutic goals into daily activities
  • Collaborate with the Physical Rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and social workers, and provide training and in-services for student and staff education
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from Arizona or any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Must meet requirements for Medical Staff credentialing and provide all related documentation
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience providing speech-language pathology services to Native American or other underserved populations
  • Experience with specialty clinics such as Geriatric clinic or Assistive Technology and adaptive equipment evaluation and treatment
