Schedule / Job TypeContract | Part-Time | Days | Onsite | 3 days per week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Monday/Tuesday/Thursday) | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care tailored to each patient's needs
- Provide skilled speech language pathology services including teaching patients to improve sounds, voice quality, and oral or written communication skills
- Instruct patients in swallowing techniques and compensatory strategies to prevent choking or aspiration of food and liquid
- Determine and recommend augmentative and alternative communication devices or methods, including sign language, for patients with limited or no speech capability
- Maintain and update accurate records of initial evaluations and patient progress to support insurance documentation and treatment justification
- Act as case manager for speech therapy-only cases
Required Qualifications- Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of Maryland
- Prior home care experience required
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license and active auto insurance
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience serving as a case manager for speech therapy cases
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies
