Description:
Under general supervision, this role is responsible for providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients.
This includes evaluations, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, and home programs.
The candidate must consistently demonstrate an outward mindset and exemplary effort in achieving goals while helping others to do the same.
Responsibilities include performing patient evaluations and administering treatment for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
The role involves designing and revising plans of care and goals as well as providing written and verbal reports to physicians.
Documentation must be completed according to unit standards and regulatory requirements.
The candidate will participate in in-service education programs and stay updated on current trends and developments in speech and swallowing disorders.
Participation in related activities such as patient care committees, case conferences, personnel orientation, community education projects, and staff meetings is also required.
This position will focus on inpatient services such as bedside swallow studies and diet recommendations, along with outpatient speech therapy evaluation and intervention for the adult population.
Candidates must be able to hit the ground running and work independently.
Dress code is business casual or matching scrubs.
Rotating weekend call may be required.
