We are seeking compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to join a correctional behavioral health team. Job Responsibilities

 

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to an incarcerated population, including:

  • Individual and group therapy sessions
  • Crisis intervention and stabilization
  • Case management services
  • Treatment planning and care coordination
  • Behavioral health assessments and evaluations
  • Clinical guidance and support to non-clinical staff
  • Documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in accordance with facility and professional standards
  • Coordination of care and referrals to receiving units, facilities, and outside agencies
  • Counseling inmates regarding mental health concerns, behavior modification, and treatment adherence
  • Collaboration with correctional, clinical, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Participation in behavioral management and treatment team discussions
  • Promotion of a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Licensed LMHC or LPC in good standing
  • Experience providing individual and group counseling
  • Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Comfortable working in a structured correctional healthcare environment
  • Strong clinical documentation and case management experience
