Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) / Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) | Correctional Health | 26-Week Contract
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) to join a correctional behavioral health team. Job Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Counselor, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to an incarcerated population, including:
- Individual and group therapy sessions
- Crisis intervention and stabilization
- Case management services
- Treatment planning and care coordination
- Behavioral health assessments and evaluations
- Clinical guidance and support to non-clinical staff
- Documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans in accordance with facility and professional standards
- Coordination of care and referrals to receiving units, facilities, and outside agencies
- Counseling inmates regarding mental health concerns, behavior modification, and treatment adherence
- Collaboration with correctional, clinical, and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care
- Participation in behavioral management and treatment team discussions
- Promotion of a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment
Ideal Candidate
- Licensed LMHC or LPC in good standing
- Experience providing individual and group counseling
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable working in a structured correctional healthcare environment
- Strong clinical documentation and case management experience
