Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity:

    Job Details:
    --- High acuity ICU with 1:2 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends
    --- Self-scheduling system with weekend coverage required
    --- Float requirement to other ICUs and SDUs
    --- 24-hour orientation period
    --- Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
    --- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
    --- Travel experience required
    --- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
    --- Epic experience required
    --- Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
    --- Transplant experience required (liver, heart, lung, kidney, pancreas)
    --- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy required
    --- Care for adult and geriatric patients in 32-bed unit with daily census of 28
    --- CVICU skills include caring for post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, PA catheter management
    --- SICU skills include general post-op care for surgical recovery patients
    --- Must be comfortable with emergency team assignments during emergency events
    --- No block scheduling requests accepted
    --- Compact or Louisiana license required upon submittal
    --- NURSYS report required with profile (must be within 4 weeks of submission)
    --- Must be separated from facility for 1 full year if previously employed as permanent staff

    This major academic medical center operates a comprehensive surgical intensive care unit that provides high-acuity care for a diverse patient population. The facility features a 32-bed SICU that serves cardiac surgery patients, transplant patients, general surgery cases, and medicine/cardiac overflow patients. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries, ensuring comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced environment.
