• Must be able to scrub and circulate.

Role Description We are looking for amazing nurses to join our exciting RN Travel Nurse team. The ability to work across all UnityPoint Health affiliates in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

Position Summary As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses and the Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health.

This position will float to nursing units within the UnityPoint Health enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Excellence: Conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the hospitals commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.
• Patient Care:
• Assists nursing with plan of care development and integrates a multidisciplinary approach.
• Delegates tasks and responsibilities to other department associates and assumes responsibility for follow-up and collaboration.
• Implements Nursing procedures according to departmental standards, hospital protocol and procedures, and within scope of practice.
• Continually evaluates outcomes of Nursing care by assessing patient/family responses and updating patient care to reflect changes in needs.
• Successfully completes the hospital and department orientation and the annual hospital and department specific competencies.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN degree.

Experience

• One 1 year of hospital clinical experience.

Licenses

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Dual licensure is required for this position:
  1. Licensure in the state of Illinois.
  2. Licensure in a Compact State to enable practice in Iowa and Wisconsin.
  3. <
  4. Note: New hires who are not dual licensed in WI will have 90 days from date of hire to obtain and submit proof of dual licensure. Proof of application for dual licensure is acceptable within the 90-day window if licensure processing has not been completed at the state level.

  5. Certifications

     • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
     • Valid drivers license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
     • Possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working on a unit with pediatric patients.
     • Possess and maintain current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
     • Possess and maintain current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
     • Possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 6 months of hire if working on telemetry, ICU, or ER units.
