Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent oncology specialty experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- 16-bed inpatient Oncology Unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Newly reopened unit serving patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Specializes in the administration of chemotherapy
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to other units and hospitals is required
- EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AL or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on nursing license
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
- At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Oncology required
- Active NURSYS verification required for consideration
- Current driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team including oncologists, pharmacists, and support staff dedicated to compassionate, specialized cancer care
- Cardiac exam is required upon offer acceptance — a link will be sent and must be completed within 24 hours
- No pre-start HealthStream modules required; competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
- Timekeeping system: Centricity
