Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Contract | Night Shift | 13-Week Assignment | Every Other Weekend Commitment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, including operation of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
  • Evaluate patients, recommend treatment plans, and conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments; educate patients on procedures and discharge care
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and routine chest x-ray review
  • Perform arterial puncture, 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and assist with bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placements
  • Perform tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, as well as endotracheal tube insertion and removal via free-hand technique and/or video laryngoscope
  • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate findings during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist license within scope of professional practice
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Proficiency with mechanical ventilation setup, self-testing, and monitoring across various equipment types
  • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage intensive respiratory care responsibilities
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in moderate complexity laboratory testing including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation
  • Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage and advanced airway management techniques
  • Prior experience in an acute care or intensive care setting
