Respiratory Therapist – Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 36 hours/week | Evening/Night Shifts (8 or 12-hour shifts); shift times include 19:00–07:30, 23:00–07:30, and 15:00–23:30 | Every other weekend rotation | One on-call shift per 6-week scheduling period | Holiday coverage required
Key Responsibilities- Provide respiratory therapy services during evening and overnight shifts in an inpatient setting
- Perform neuro diagnostics and respiratory assessments for both adult and pediatric patients
- Monitor and respond to telemetry findings, including identification of lethal cardiac rhythms
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient care requirements
- Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled within each 6-week period
Required Qualifications- Active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required; pending license accepted at time of submittal
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC required
- Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
- BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum of two years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam (adult and pediatric) with a minimum score of 80%; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required on adult exam
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience working with both pediatric and adult patient populations
- Prior inpatient acute care experience in a respiratory therapy specialty
