Job Title

Respiratory Therapist – Adult Critical Care (RRT/CRT)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care patients across cardiovascular and medical-surgical ICUs, step-down units, and general acute care floors
  • Care for complex patient populations including post-cardiac surgery, heart and lung transplant, LVAD, ECMO, IABP, Impella, ARDS, septic shock, and pulmonary hypertension cases
  • Operate and monitor advanced mechanical circulatory support and ventilatory equipment within scope of practice
  • Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic electronic health records
  • Float as needed to the main adult hospital campus, utilizing the same policies, equipment, and charting systems
  • Participate in emergency response team assignments as required during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be considered
  • Active South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license must be in hand at time of start
  • Minimum 2 years of adult critical care respiratory therapy experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • No first-time travelers accepted for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical patient populations, including transplant and mechanical circulatory support devices
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
  • Experience in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma, or teaching hospital environment
