Key Responsibilities- Provide respiratory therapy services across varied patient populations including primarily adults and NICU patients
- Operate and manage specialized equipment including Drager ventilators, jet ventilators, and oscillator ventilators
- Float across different units throughout the hospital as needed
- Deliver care in compliance with departmental protocols and standards for Level III or Level IV NICU settings
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records
- Participate in required holiday coverage as determined by unit scheduling needs
Required Qualifications- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the NBRC — CRTs will not be considered
- Minimum 24 months of RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience in a hospital setting
- Work history reflecting at least 36 months of current RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience
- NICU experience within the last 18 months, including Level III or Level IV NICU experience within the last 15 months
- Hands-on experience with jet ventilators, Drager ventilators, and oscillator ventilators
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the past 15 months — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Active certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), PALS (AHA), NRP, and NBRC
- Active EPIC EMR experience required
- Valid Driver's License required
- Discipline-specific Respiratory Therapy skills checklist required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Active Iowa Respiratory Care license (licensing candidates with a 1–3 week turnaround will be considered)
- Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Respiratory Care and Polysomnography documentation
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
