Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a night shift position in a pediatric respiratory care department in Oklahoma City, OK.

  • Pediatric respiratory care department at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK
  • Previous experience in a children's-only hospital is preferred
  • Night shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2 years in a critical care setting preferred
  • RRT credential required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification from AHA required within 3 months of hire
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
  • License required if applicable
  • All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the electronic medical record
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
  • Serve as a resource person to medical staff and participate as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and operational
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for a new contract
  • This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates after a candidate is booked
