Description:
Position involves administering treatments and managing ventilators.
Approximately 5-6 ventilated patients and 35 treatments are expected per 12-hour shift.
Type of patients includes adults, pediatrics, and neonates (only if NICU trained).
Will attend all deliveries and cesarean sections if trained in NICU.
Areas of coverage include inpatient settings and a freestanding emergency department located 15 minutes away.
Travelers are not required to be able to intubate independently but must assist.
An intensivist is in-house 24/7.
A charge RRT will be present on each shift.
Travelers will not be alone in the main hospital but may be the only RT in the emergency department.
Equipment used includes Vent-Avea, Hamilton C1, Bipap-V60, EV300, HiFlow-Aerovo 2, Zoll vents for backup, and Glidescope for intubation.
Shifts are scheduled from 6 AM to 6 PM, with no guarantee of a block schedule.
Every other weekend work is required.
Travelers will work 2 of 3 major holidays.
May be placed on low census and required to float to the freestanding emergency department.
Housing is available on an as-needed basis and is considered a taxable benefit.
