Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an RRT License: RRT License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS. NRP required if NICU experience Must-Have: - Certification as an RRT - At least two years of experience as an RRT - Reside 100+ miles from the facility Description: The position involves administering respiratory treatments and managing ventilators. The therapist will perform an average of 5-6 ventilator adjustments and 35 treatments during a 12-hour shift. The types of patients include adults, pediatrics, and neonates if trained in NICU. Responsibilities include drawing and analyzing ABGs, setting ventilator parameters, and assisting with intubations. Travelers are not required to intubate independently but must be able to assist. An intensivist is on-site 24/7 for support and guidance. There will be a Charge RRT present on each shift for supervision. While the main hospital will have multiple RTs, the therapist may be the only RT in the freestanding emergency department. Equipment used includes Vent-Avea, Hamilton C1, Bipap-V60, EV300, HiFlow-Aerovo 2, Zoll vents, Glidescope, and Glidescope-GO. The schedule may include weekends every other week and working two of the three major holidays. The therapist may float to other departments if needed.
