Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist:
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages in both acute and critical care settings
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized respiratory therapy treatments
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and ventilator management per physician orders
- Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function assessments
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Monitor patient progress, adjust therapy as needed, and document care accurately
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards
Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist:
- Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current RRT or CRT credential through the NBRC
- Current BLS certification
- 0-6 months of related experience.
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and teamwork skills
