Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT PICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PICU and recent children's hospital experience License: Indiana State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP (for those placed in L&D), PALS preferred Must-Have: L&D experience required, primarily assigned to L&D. Description: This position is for a Respiratory Therapist with a focus on Pediatric Intensive Care. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in PICU. Experience in a children's hospital within the last 3 years is essential. The therapist will be floating between NICU, PICU, and Pediatrics. Candidates should be comfortable with an every other weekend requirement. Certified individuals must possess ACLS, BLS, NRP, and RRT credentials. PALS certification is preferred. Candidates must have experience with aerosol setup, BiPAP, CPAP, extubation, and interpretation of ABGs. Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation, and tracheostomy care are key responsibilities. Home unit assignments may vary based on facility needs. All travelers may be required to float to various specialties as needed. The candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Travelers must adhere to all floating requirements and may float between facilities. Local candidates are considered for certain positions but not all. Candidates should have all certifications in hand prior to starting the position. Two supervisor references are required for application. This position involves working with neonates, infants, and pediatrics. Traveling professionals will be expected to engage fully with patients and interdisciplinary teams. Job applicants should demonstrate clinical excellence and effective communication skills.
