Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an ICU setting with experience in ECMO management. License: RRT license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: - ECMO specialist experience - Pediatric and adult experience Description: Shift hours are from 1900 to 0730, working three nights per week. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, but this may change based on organizational needs. Floating between Critical Care Units may be required. Candidates must have experience in both pediatric and adult care. Responsibilities include managing ECMO devices during bedside ECMO cannulation and cannula repositioning procedures. Candidates will work closely with an ICU RN and RT, specifically managing the device following the ECMO order set and provider team instructions. Patients may present with post-cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, ARDS, respiratory failure, or other critical conditions requiring ECMO support. Special equipment includes the ECMO consoles and point-of-care testing devices. Knowledge and experience in arterial line management, blood product administration, and ventilator care are essential. Experience with patient management in various critical care scenarios is required, including multi-system organ dysfunction. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in infection prevention and isolation precautions. Travelers will need to adhere to facility protocols and be prepared to float as necessary to meet patient care needs.
