Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT PICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PICU and children's hospital experience within the last 3 years License: Indiana State License required; accepts IN temp license but must have applied for both Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP (for those placed in L&D, determined by the client); PALS preferred Must-Have: L&D experience; must be comfortable with weekend requirements; strong clinician with experience in NICU/PICU or Pediatrics Description: Prescreening question: Confirm that the traveler is aware of the weekend requirement. First-time travelers are accepted. The position involves 3 shifts of 12 hours each from Friday to Sunday. Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years is required. Candidates may be assigned to PICU, NICU, and Pediatrics, and floating may occur between these specialties. Experience in Level 1 adult facilities is acceptable for strong candidates. Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Must have relevant certifications in pediatric critical care and respiratory therapy techniques. Experience with specific respiratory procedures and equipment is required. Travelers will be required to float within the facility or to nearby affiliate hospitals. Dependent on patient care needs, the home unit for a traveler may change. Current or past travelers with designated time worked within the system may have specific eligibility criteria for future positions. All travelers must have required documents ready before the start date. This position involves providing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. Travelers will be part of an interdisciplinary team involved in patient care.
