Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year License: Required Certifications: - ACLS (AHA) - BLS (AHA) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - PALS (AHA) - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC Must-Have: - Experience with vents, bipap, basic RT treatments, EKGs, and intubation assistance - Previous traveler experience preferred - Ability to work as a team and assist other therapists Description: This position involves providing respiratory therapy to primarily adult patients, with minimal pediatric and neonate cases. You will be responsible for administering 20-25 treatments per day per therapist, usually with 2 therapists per shift. The areas of coverage include inpatient units, emergency room, intensive care unit, medical-surgical floors, and facility emergencies. Job duties include basic therapies, arterial blood gas sampling, EKGs, bipaps/cpap, ventilator management, charting, and charge verification. Assist with intubation and insert king airways in emergency situations as needed. Shifts are from 0600 to 1800 and 1800 to 0600, with weekend coverage rotating every third weekend. Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise. There is no call requirement or standby call response time. Scrub color is dark green, and the position requires familiarity with various respiratory therapy equipment. Department-specific orientation is provided before starting the role.
