We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Milwaukee, WI where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. This opportunity supports care across adult, geriatric, and occasional pediatric populations in a Level III Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Comprehensive Stroke Center.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
  • Current state license in good standing with the State License Board.
  • One year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and CRT or RRT required.
  • Clinical experience with ventilator management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizers, arterial line placement, intubation, ventilator weaning, extubation, and arterial blood gas interpretation.
  • Experience with AVEA vents, Servo U vents, LPU 1200 vents, parapack vents for MRI, and Hamilton transport vents.
  • Experience working with EPIC charting and Pyxis systems preferred.
  • Willingness to float within the hospital to multiple units.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or magnet-designated hospital preferred.
  • Previous experience caring for primarily adult and geriatric populations with occasional pediatric ED exposure preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Standard hours per week: 36.
  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend.
  • Orientation: minimum of one shift to learn unit flow.
  • Floating: floats within hospital to all units.
  • Scheduling: time off may be approved up to 7 days (default).
  • On call: varies.
  • Support: unit-based support available.
  • Charting system: EPIC.
  • Parking: free.
