We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Winston-Salem, NC where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current NC state license in good standing with the State License Board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required. CRT acceptable but not preferred for NICU/Peds roles.
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience.
- BLS certification required.
- For Adult RT assignments: ACLS required.
- For NICU/Pediatric RT assignments: PALS and NRP required.
- Preferred experience with high-acuity and Level 1 trauma center environments.
- Preferred experience with EMR: EPIC and department equipment such as Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, cough assist. For pediatrics, HFJV and HFOV experience preferred.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Patient population: Adult ICU, NICU/Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical, ED as needed.
- Shift: Night shift. 18:30 – 07:00.
- Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks.
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
- Holiday expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
- Orientation: New employee orientation plus 1–2 days departmental orientation.
- Floating: Assignment to units will be based on traveler experience and unit needs; not required to float beyond assigned units.
- Department support: Lead therapists present on each shift for adult and pediatric teams.
- Parking: Free.
- Scrub color: Pewter (charcoal grey).
