Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License Certifications: RRT, BLS Must-Have: RRT credentials, ability to care for and treat patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, comfort managing mechanically ventilated patients Description: This position involves working three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates need to be willing to work some holidays. Candidates will be expected to work in ICUs and on floors. Occasionally, you may be asked to precept respiratory therapy students. Active AARC membership and a bachelor's degree or higher in any field of study are strongly preferred. Candidates will be expected to perform airway management devices and suctioning, including endotracheal tube and tracheostomy care. Medication administration includes albuterol, inhaled steroids, and nitric oxide. Experience with ventilator management, including BiPAP and CPAP, is required. Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) is essential. Candidates must be comfortable walking relatively long distances. The facility is a short-term acute care teaching facility. The total number of staffed beds is 1259. Daily patient care includes adults and geriatrics. Epic charting experience is required. All travelers will float within the service line as necessary.
