This role is ideal for a professional with experience in acute care settings, particularly within a Level 1 Trauma Center, to provide exceptional respiratory therapy services. As a key member of the healthcare team, the therapist will ensure the provision of high-quality care to patients requiring respiratory support.

Key Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist
  • Confirm physician orders and assess appropriateness to ensure quality patient care.
  • Notify medical team of any unusual reactions observed in patients.
  • Assess, evaluate, and document patient responses to therapy and treatment.
  • Explain treatment procedures and maintain a safe environment.
  • Perform respiratory/pulmonary procedures and respond to emergencies.
  • Set up and maintain equipment, administer gases and medications.
  • Contribute to quality improvement programs and policy development.
  • Participate in educational sessions and maintain proficiency in respiratory care skills.

Requirements of the Respiratory Therapist
  • Graduate of an A.M.A. or CoARC approved program for Respiratory Therapists.
  • Valid Ohio license (RCP) to practice Respiratory Care.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
