Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3+ years in an acute care hospital setting, including emergency department and adult critical care required; 1+ year in a Level 3 NICU preferred. License: Active state Respiratory Therapist license Certifications: Active NBRC credential Must-Have: BLS certification Description: As a Respiratory Therapist, you will assess, treat, and care for patients of all ages who suffer from pulmonary disorders. You will analyze and perform diagnostic testing. You will perform relevant exams and set up cardiopulmonary equipment and machines needed to assist or monitor patients' breathing. You will gather data to accurately assess a patient's current health status. You will assess the patient according to their physical or age-related needs. You will observe, record, and report symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. You will administer and record prescribed medications, treatments, and diagnostic procedures. You will be responsible for airway management, including performing endotracheal intubations and extubations, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care. You will perform emergency life support procedures. You will provide extensive health education to patients and the general population through community services.
