Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BCLS, RRT required Must-Have: NICU and/or PICU experience required Description: Position / Specialty: Respiratory Care. Years of experience required: 2. First-timers accepted: Yes. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend. On-call requirement: No. Clinician will not float within the scope to meet facility needs. Local candidates are not accepted from a 75-mile radius. Patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics. The daily census is approximately 320. The facility is a teaching hospital with 400 staffed beds. Special procedures include NICU and pediatric critical care. Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services and rapid response teams. Skills required: Aerosol setup, assistance in high-risk delivery, BiPAP, CPAP, emergency department experience, extubation, intubation assistance, and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Additional skills include the interpretation of arterial blood gases and tracheostomy care. Special equipment includes servo ventilators and nitric oxide delivery systems. The contract length is firm. Compliance deadline is three days before the start date. Fit testing is required for travelers. All certifications need to be completed prior to starting the position.
