Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year(s) License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Must-Have: Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience required EKGs, bedside bronchs, and bedside spirometry experience Description: Candidates must have BLS, ACLS, and CRT certifications. NRP & PALS preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and live outside a 50-mile radius. Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in patient care departments. The position involves working with patients from neonates to geriatrics. Inpatient coverage is required for all areas and floors. Hospitalist or Intensivist is in-house 24/7. There will be a Lead Therapist present on each shift. Travelers will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house. Experience with various respiratory equipment is necessary. Shifts are team-scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend. Holidays will be rotated with permanent staff. Floating to different areas throughout the hospital in the respiratory therapy capacity is required. Three 12-hour shifts of unit/department-specific orientation will be provided. Successful candidates will demonstrate time management skills, flexibility, adaptability, communication, and teamwork. A willingness to learn is essential to thrive in the department. RTO needed upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing cancellations of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is EPIC. This is an acute care setting.
