Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 AM - 7 PM) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC Must-Have: EKGs, bedside bronchs, and bedside spirometry Description: BLS, ACLS, RRT or CRT required. NRP and PALS preferred. Candidates must not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Driver's license is required and will be used to determine eligibility. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Types of patients include neonates to geriatrics. Coverage includes all inpatient areas and floors. Hospitalist or Intensivist is in-house 24/7. There is a Lead Therapist on each shift. Travelers will not be the only RT in-house. RT Equipment includes Drager, Servo I, Carefusion, Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T, and Airvo2. Shifts and scheduling follow a team structure. Weekend requirements are every third day for days and every other night. Holiday requirements will rotate with permanent staff. Travelers may float to different areas throughout the hospital in the RT capacity. Unit-specific orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts. This department offers the opportunity to work in various levels of patient care daily. Teamwork between RT, providers, and nursing is emphasized. Successful attributes for RTs include time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn. RTO needed upfront (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved after submissions. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. A BSN is not required.
