We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Portland, ME where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
  • Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  • Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred in tertiary or teaching hospital settings and level 1 trauma centers (client-specific requirement).
  • Experience with adult acute and critical care required. Experience with NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and cardiothoracic preferred (client-specific requirements; NICU-trained RT highly desired).
  • Familiarity with mechanical ventilators including Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
  • Experience using EPIC electronic medical record preferred.
  • BLS required. ACLS preferred. NRP for NICU required for NICU roles.


Preferred Qualifications

  • NICU/PICU experience preferred.
  • Cardiothoracic experience preferred.
  • Flexible, team-oriented communicator comfortable in varied patient-care settings.


Assignment Details

  • Shift hours: 1900-0700.
  • Call requirements: yes; 2 hours for the oncoming shift.
  • Must be willing to float to cover NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care as needed.
