Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: RRT - NICU Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS, RRT Must-Have: - Experience in a Level 3 NICU - Competence in intubating, delivering surfactant, and initiating resuscitation guidelines during high-risk deliveries - Ability to work independently in a critical care environment Description: Therapist must be skilled in working in a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Comfort attending C-sections and high-risk deliveries is essential. Candidates must be capable of identifying the needs of newborns based on APGAR scores provided. Proficiency in administering different modalities of oxygen, utilizing surfactant, and drawing capillary blood gases is required. Ability to set initial ventilator settings for infants and navigate high-frequency oscillators when necessary is crucial. Candidates must also be competent in resuscitating newborns post-delivery if required. Critical thinking skills are a necessity for managing some of the smallest patients safely. Therapists should be prepared to provide care independently in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required as needed. All travelers are expected to work designated holidays, with specific guidelines regarding holiday requests. Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time.
