Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years in Adult Critical Care, Trauma Level 1 License: Must have an active RRT license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience with adult critical care work settings, trauma level 1 experience Description: Position requires a respiratory therapist with at least 2 years of experience. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM three times a week. Requests for time off must be included and approved at the time of booking. The facility may call off staff for one shift every two weeks. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must have experience in extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, oral airway placement, oral suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care. Experience with administering various medications including albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids is required. Candidates should also be experienced in medication delivery methods such as aerosol setups and metered dose inhalers. Experience with high flow nasal cannula and mechanical ventilation tasks, including BiPAP and CPAP, is essential. Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on staffing needs. One year of experience with the EPIC charting system is required. The respiratory therapist will work with adult and geriatric patient populations. Behavioral competencies in critical care settings are necessary for this role. The position supports respiratory services and rapid response teams. Documentation of competencies in all required tasks is necessary. Strong experience in ventilator management and related procedures is highly valued.
