Job Title: Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: BLS, NRP, NBRC Description: The Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist will be proficient in medicated aerosol therapy. They will utilize small volume nebulizers. Patient education for aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy is required. Knowledge of DPI, MDI, and holding chamber usage is essential. Familiarity with medication carts, Omnicell, and barcoding for medication administration is necessary. Suctioning skills are expected. The candidate should be capable of manual ventilation and intubation assistance. Assisted ventilation techniques will be used as needed. Experience in high-risk delivery situations is important. They will perform surfactant administration and follow NRP protocol. T-piece ventilation skills are required. The therapist will conduct blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation. Humidified therapy expertise is necessary. The candidate will use aerosol masks, nasal cannulas, and oxygen masks as required. The position involves covering respiratory requirements for postpartum mothers and infants in specialty care.
