We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Reno, NV where you’ll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.


Minimum Requirements: 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  • Current Nevada state respiratory license required. Candidate must apply for the State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst license, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care prior to start.
  • Minimum 2+ years of acute care respiratory therapy experience preferred; 1 year acute care experience acceptable if otherwise qualified. (Client prefers 2+ years.)
  • AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start.
  • Experience working in critical care, adult general care, and pediatric general care settings preferred.
  • Experience with respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and documentation in an acute care electronic medical record preferred.
  • Willingness to float within the organization up to competency level. Travelers may be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period.

  • Shift name: Flex Shifts; 3x12s with rotating days of the week and varied shifts.
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
  • Call requirements: To be discussed during interview; schedule can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts.
  • Travelers may be required to float to meet organizational needs up to their competency level.

The facility functions as a Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation, approximately 800 inpatient beds and an 80-bed emergency department. The role provides direct patient care across the lifespan from neonatal to geriatric patients.
