We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Omaha, NE where you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment and care for patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current state respiratory license in good standing.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required or equivalent experience; one year of RRT experience preferred.
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS required.
- Experience with EPIC charting system required.
- Experience across the lifespan: neonates through geriatrics, including inpatient coverage across units.
- Demonstrated competence with bedside bronchoscopy, bedside spirometry, and EKGs.
- Familiarity with ventilators and respiratory equipment including Drager, Servo I, Carefusion, Vision/V60/V30, Respironics S/T, and Airvo2 preferred.
- Ability to float to different areas throughout the hospital in an RT capacity.
- Driver’s license required at submittal to confirm radius compliance.
- Orientation requirement: three 12-hour orientation shifts (12 total orientation hours noted).
- Candidate must not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity). Radius rule: candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.
- Professional attributes that support success: time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
- Preferred: NRP and PALS certifications.

- Facility type: Hospital.
- Shift name: Days.
- Shift pattern: 12-hour day shifts, scheduled as 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (team scheduling, noted shift start 6:30 AM with end at 7:00 PM in shift notes).
- Weekend requirement: Days every third weekend.
- Holiday requirement: Rotate with permanent staff.
- Orientation: 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation, 12-hour shifts.
- Floating: Required to float to different areas throughout the hospital.
- Patient types: All populations from neonates to geriatrics; inpatient coverage across all floors.
