Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience License: RRT Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. - BLS - ACLS - 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience Description: Unit Information: The unit has a total of 437 beds and 60 staff members. The staff includes a Director, permanent staff, 7-8 RRTs, and 3-4 per diem personnel. Day shift staff consists of a Director, Manager, Supervisor, and 8-10 RRTs. Night shift staff includes a Supervisor and 8-10 RRTs. Patient ratios average approximately 44-46 procedures per shift. The unit is equipped with Servo I ventilators, nebulizers, Hamilton, V60, Astral CPAP & BIPAP machines, ABG devices, and uses Meditech for EMR. Typical hiring profile: Candidates with trauma experience and Meditech experience will be preferred. Typical procedures performed include treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema. Best personality fit includes being a team player, critical thinker, patient care focused, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment. An active disciplinary approach and collaborative relationships with physicians are essential. Dress code consists of light grey attire. The unit is accredited by the Joint Commission and recognized as a Certified Primary Stroke Center. It has been a 5-star recipient for heart attack treatment for 11 years in a row. This position is a contractor replacement.
