Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience License: RRT Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - NICU experience - Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role Description: Respiratory Therapist provides treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia, and emphysema. The unit consists of 437 beds and a staff of 60 which includes a Director, permanent staff, and RRTs. There are 7-8 RRTs and 3-4 per diem staff during day shifts, with 8-10 RRTs on night shifts. Patient ratios range approximately from 44-46 procedures per shift. The department utilizes equipment such as Servo I ventilators, nebulizers, Hamilton ventilators, CPAP and BIPAP machines, ABGs, and CPT EMR. Candidates with trauma experience and previous Meditech experience are preferred. Best personality fit includes being a team player, critical thinker, and focused on patient care in a fast-paced environment. Dress code for RRTs includes light grey attire. The department is recognized for accreditation by the Joint Commission and has received awards for the treatment of heart attacks, maintaining a five-star rating for 11 consecutive years. This position is being filled to replace a vacant role.
