Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: TX State License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC RRT Must-Have: Critical care management for adult vent patients Experience with vent weaning guidelines Trach care management Emergency and standard airway care for all patient populations EKG procedure Blood gas analysis and technique to draw ABG sample RT medication administration RT plan of care, assessment, and progress evaluation Oxygen therapy Code Blue, Trauma, and STEMI response Documentation and charge for therapy provided Physician communication Safety standards and checklist completion Infection prevention standards Description: This role involves working within a respiratory therapy team. The unit consists of a dedicated staff providing quality care to patients. Staffing varies by shift to ensure patient needs are met. Team members are responsible for managing ventilators and BiPAP equipment. Experience with specific equipment is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with blood gas analysis and bedside bronchoscope assistance. Emergency and routine airway management skills are essential. A commitment to safety and infection prevention is necessary. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and adhere to best practices in patient care. Rotating weekends may be required. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative team environment. Candidates with NICU experience will be prioritized.
