Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal patients and healthy newborns according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient status, plan and implement care, evaluate outcomes, and respond promptly to clinical changes.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff across levels, ensuring safe, patient-centered care and appropriate delegation.
- Coordinate care with physicians, midwives, lactation consultants, and other disciplines to ensure smooth patient flow and continuity of care.
- Administer medications, provide patient and family education, and assist with discharge planning and follow-up as appropriate.
- Maintain unit policies and procedures; document accurately in the medical record; ensure safety and infection control practices. Note: this unit does not include labor and delivery and excludes gynecology patients.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California (or eligible for licensure)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Ability to work Nights in a 3x12-hour schedule on an OB/antenatal/postpartum unit
- Prior obstetric or maternal-newborn nursing experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
